For Gen Z, the 'Do Not Disturb' feature isn’t antisocial. It’s self-defense. In a world of nonstop pings, surprise calls feel intense, texts and DMs let you reply on your own terms. Keeping DND on is less about ignoring people and more about protecting time, focus,s and mental space. (And yes, studies show it can take around 23 minutes to refocus after an interruption.) If a generation stops being reachable 24/7, will workplaces and relationships adapt, or push back?
